Fifty-One Tulane Student-Athletes Awarded Degrees During the 2004-05 Academic Year
June 17, 2005 NEW ORLEANS, La. - A total of 51 current and former Tulane student-athletes were awarded degrees in commencement ceremonies held in December of 2004 and May of 2005. The list of graduates includes 10 football players, including Tennessee Titans signees Roydell Williams and Chris Bush, and six athletes from the baseball, volleyball and women's track and field teams. Five individuals - baseball's Scott Madden and Bryan Stelmack, men's basketball's Ivan Pjevcevic, women's basketball's Tymeka Moore and Goran Vasiljevic of men's tennis - earned Master of Finance degrees while soccer's Asia Simons completed her master's degree in accounting. Seventeen student-athletes completed double-majors, including marketing and management (volleyball's Kim Swafford, track and field's Jelena Jurlina, Natalie Walsh and Tiffany Wilson of women's basketball), finance and legal studies (baseball's Ricky Fairchild and football's Lane Macaluso), and finance and management (volleyball's Deva Fowler and Jeff Osborn of men's golf). Football's Chris Bush and Joey Dawson, volleyball's Iman Houston, soccer's Brook Parker, men's and women's tennis players Hannu Piiroinen and Nancy Kockott and Jonathon Tebeleff, Sarah Bumby and Helmi Leppanen of the track and field teams all graduated with double majors as well.
With three women's basketball players - Tymeka Moore, Natalie Walsh and Tiffany Wilson - 11-year head coach Lisa Stockton continues her 100 percent graduation rate for four-year players, and has three more on target to graduate in December.
