Will return to linebacker, his position as a freshman and sophomore, for the 2005 campaign after working at safety last year. 2004: Played in nine games with five starts at strong safety, recording 39 tackles (24 solo) to rank eighth on the team. Tallied a season-best eight tackles (four solo) against UAB (10/23). Posted a seven-tackle day at Memphis (10/16) and added six stops against both Mississippi State (9/4) and Southern Miss (9/25). 2003: Played in 11 games with nine starts at strong-side linebacker. Missed the UAB game (11/8) due to injury. Ranked seventh on the team with 63 tackles (32 solo), while adding four tackles for loss and five pass break-ups. Had a season-best 11 tackles (four solo) and his lone sack of the year against Houston (10/11). Also hit double digits with 10 stops (seven solo) in the win over Mississippi State (9/13). Recorded eight tackles against Louisville (10/17). 2002: Redshirted the season. 2001: As a true freshman, played in all 12 games, including seven starts at linebacker. Selected to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team. Ranked fifth on the team with 65 tackles, including 41 solo stops. Posted a huge game with 14 tackles (seven solo) against UAB (10/20). Tallied nine tackles (six solo) and forced a fumble in his second career game against LSU (9/1). Recorded six tackles (five solo), including his first career sack, while forcing two fumbles in the Homecoming win against TCU (10/13). Had a seven-tackle day (three solo) against Navy (11/10). HIGH SCHOOL: Member of the Times-Picayune's Top 16 Blue Chip list. First team all-district choice as a senior. SuperPrep Magazine named him the top strong safety in Louisiana. The No. 15 prospect in Louisiana, according to SuperPrep. Made 52 solo tackles as a senior. Big plays included five fumble recoveries, two caused fumbles and an interception. For his career, totaled 90 solo stops. Recovered nine fumbles and caused four. Picked off a pair of passes as a prep.
